On Thursday, November 9, our Social Studies Department sponsored our annual Veterans Day program in the Mayo Conference Center.  The students and staff were given gold stars to write family and friends down who served in the military, their branch of service served in, and the war they fought in.  It was a very solemn and respectful program in honor of our Veterans.  Several Veterans in the community were invited to participate.  The ceremony started with the JROTC color guard from Darlington High School presenting the colors followed by a short routine given by the Drill Team.  A few of our resident Eagle Scouts led us with the Pledge of Allegience.  Special thanks to al the students who participated in the ceremony and to the Social Studies department teachers:  Jill Knight, Layne Smith, Jay Flowers.
