Faberge Eggs on Display at Mayo
Mrs. O'Donnell's Art classes have been busy again!  The students made their own Faberge eggs to put on display.  The students had to identify a specific artwork belonging to a particular culture or historical period and explain the characteristics that led him or her to make their identification. They also had to analyze the intention of the artists in a specific artwork and justify his or her interpretation.

             Weddings & Economics?
In Ms. Knight's Economics classes, students are getting married this week to officially start their personal budget projects. They have been in the 'engagement' phase of the project for awhile and have begun the fun adult tasks of finding jobs, housing, cars, etc. There were two separate ceremonies, one on Tuesday at 11 am and the second on Wednesday at 8:15 am in the Mayo Courtyard in front of the Phoenix, with Ms. Knight officiating the ceremonies. They were quick but memorable ceremonies complete with flowers and rings.

Yearbook Dedication Ceremony
On Thursday, May 4, we had our Yearbook Dedication ceremony in which Mrs. Arlene Wallace, Principal, was recognized for her loving spirit and making us feel like a family here at Mayo.  The ceremony was followed by a Celebration Party in the cafeteria where everyone received their individual yearbooks, enjoyed some cake and punch, and had time to mingle around and sign each other's yearbook.

Congratulations to Ms. Jane Patrick and the Yearbook staff for doing an EXCELLENT JOB on the Yearbook.  The students and staff had a great time with the Yearbook Signing Celebration.  Mrs. Wallace was truly honored and blessed to be this year’s dedication recipient!
