Mayo Gives Back!
For the holiday season, several Mayo organizations supported causes to give back to the Darlington County community.  The Mayo family's willingness to give and help others each year is astounding.  It is heartwarming to see students coming to school with dolls, stuffed animals, scarves, mittens, canned goods, and many other thoughtful offerings to help others.

The Foreign Language Department sponsored the annual Mitten Tree for the needy children of Darlington County by donating over 100 mittens, scarves, socks, gloves, and caps.  The Mitten Tree donation was presented to DSS Foster Care Division.

The National Beta Club sponsored the Toys for Tots Drive to help the Marines support children in the Pee Dee area.

The National Honor Society helped to collet needed supplies for the Hurricanes Florence and Michael victims.

The National Art Honor Society collected canned goods for the local Lord's Care Ministry.

Mr. Rembert Cook is the MAN with a plan!  His classroom project "The Sky is the Limit" was recently funded through a DonorsChoose Grant!  Can't wait to see that drone in action!

Groups gathered in the Learning Commons on Tuesday, January 15 to pitch their product to fellow students, faculty, and staff who played the role of "investor". The winning product "SMART Bat", a bat that is marketed towards high school baseball players that would help to improve the player's swing by measuring the swing speed and angle of swing and would ultimately connect to a mobile app that would provide guidance on how to improve.
